Welcome!

I am a medical sociologist who studies the social and ethical dimensions of medical research as well as health inequities related to substance use. My research has been published in social science, public health, and substance use journals, such as Drug and Alcohol Dependence, Sociology of Health and Illness, Qualitative Health Research, and the International Journal of Drug Policy.

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Policy in the School of Public Health & Health Sciences, at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Prior to this, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine at the University of Michigan. I earned my PhD in Sociology from the University of British Columbia, MA in Social Science at the University of Chicago, and BA in Psychology at the University of South Carolina.
